David Mills
Senior Minister
Contact Pastor Mills

The son of a minister, Pastor David Mills grew up in the shadow of the church. But that alone did not call him to serve. "As a matter of fact," he says, "one of my earliest memories is of trying to crawl out of church during my father's sermon, only to have my mother catch me by the ankle."
And yet, maturing into a young adult, Pastor Mills was always drawn to the fulfillment of personal engagement with others. This first led him to study communication arts in college. But when it didn't truly involve the kind of human interaction he sought, he went into the ministry.
Over the years, he served three churches in three states, as well as the U.S. Naval Chaplain Corps. Eventually, in the fall of 2001, he arrived at Federated Church.
"I feel like I have the best job in the world," he says, "because while listening to and serving others, I also continue to grow every day. Now, with children of my own, I hear my father's words differently and I can better see the world from God's point of view, the Father of us all."

I was born and raised in West Lafayette, IN and attended West Lafayette Schools and Purdue University.  Children and their well being have always been important to me.  From a young age I provided child care for neighbors and church members, taught Sunday school, worked with youth groups and directed many Vacation Bible School programs, so I felt prepared for the challenge of this position in our church family.
My Grandfather, Paul E. Million Sr., was my best friend and mentor as a child.   He was a Disciples of Christ Minister for many years.   I felt his influence and God's call to pursue my ministry license, and to work with Children.
I have enjoyed working with others to start a new worship center for our children where we hold Worship & Wonder.  Our F.I.S.H. group (3rd-6th graders) is fun and has a beautiful new room to create, praise, and worship God in.   Come join us in spreading the good news of God's love while we nurture His and our most blessed gift, the children.
